Stop Trying to "Make" Meaning - Instead...

Feel the meaning....

Often we can be somewhere that offers a moment of "awe" or be in a place where we experience a "feeling" that resonates inside of us. In that same moment or experience we can also be trying to make sense of it, label it, describe it, share it, journal it, etc.

In those moments trying to "think" about what the meaning of the moment is - we can find ourselves "stuck" to find the words, "lost" to describe the situation, or struggle with that common "paralysis by analysis" trap.

We can also become overwhelmed with existential wonderment - "What does this all mean..."

The end result "thinking" about what it all means may leave you with mixed emotions. Instead of trying to "make" meaning through words - try to "feel" the meaning.

I invite you to practice attuning yourself to the situations, moments, experiences, people, etc. that resonate with you by "feeling" what is occuring.

Don't worry about a label or words - just notice how you "feel."

Let your senses derive the meaning...

  • Notice when the hair on your arm's standup...
  • Notice when the tears well up in your eyes..
  • Notice the tingling in your stomach...
  • Notice the chill of the wind at the top of a hike...
  • Notice the rush of adrenaline coursing through your body...
  • Notice your muscles relaxing in the warmth of the sun...
  • Notice the smell of the grass or flowers...
  • Notice the sound of the ocean and the waves crashing against the shore...

Just notice...

Just feel...

Next time you experience a moment, just "feel" the meaning...
